About the university
Tongwon University (동원대학교) is a junior college (전문대학) founded in 1995 as Dongwon Industrial College, located in Gwangju (Gonjiam area), Gyeonggi-do. Note: this college is unrelated to the large Gwangju metropolitan city in the southwest — it sits just a few dozen kilometers from Seoul.
The college offers Welding, Electronics, IT, Korean Culture, and Beauty programs. TOPIK 2 is sufficient for admission, opening the door to students with a beginner level of Korean.
The first-semester contract fee is 2,000,000 KRW and the second semester is 2,300,000 KRW (about 4,300,000 KRW per year total). New students receive free dormitory housing for the first 6 months.
